The OS of the 'Fire HD 8' is Amazon's own OS 'Fire OS' based on Android. By installing apps from the Amazon App Store, you can also run apps other than the pre-installed ones. 'Geekbench' is one of the standard benchmark apps, and the latest version 'Geekbench 6' was not available in the store at the time of writing, but 'Geekbench 5' was available, so I installed it.
It worked not only on the regular Fire HD 8, but also on the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro and Fire HD 8 Kids Model, so we ran benchmarks on each and compared the numbers.

The results are as follows, with the highest score in each category in bold. The only difference is that the Fire HD 8 has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the Kids Pro and Kids Model have 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, but the benchmark scores are almost the same. Looking at the breakdown, there were some items where the Kids Pro and Kids Model had higher scores than the Fire HD 8, but this is likely due to the state of the device at the time of execution and subtle individual differences.

In addition, to see how long the battery lasts in actual use, which is said to last up to 13 hours, we measured the operating time by playing a video on YouTube. The graph shows the Fire HD 8 (red line), the Kids Pro (blue line), and the Kids model (yellow line).
First, the discharge time. Points are plotted every hour, but the decrease in the battery is almost the same for all three devices, with the difference being in 1% increments, making it very difficult to see. Ultimately, after 8 hours, the battery was down to 2%. This is with non-stop video playback, so if you are not connected to the Internet, the battery life will be longer.
Meanwhile, the graph below shows the charging time when using the included power cable and charging from 10% remaining. As with discharging, points are plotted every hour. There is a slight difference here, with the Kids Model completing charging in almost exactly 8 hours. Next, the Fire HD 8 was charged in 8 hours and 15 minutes, and only the Kids Pro took a little over 9 hours. The Kids Model and Kids Pro are devices with the same specifications, but for some reason there is a difference of one hour.
