It has been revealed that several anti-theft features that were announced to be introduced to Android in May 2024 have finally begun to be officially distributed. This will enable features such as detecting 'snatching attempts' and automatically locking the smartphone.

The three new anti-theft features are 'Theft Detection Lock,' 'Offline Device Lock,' and 'Remote Lock.'
Theft Detection Lock is a feature that uses Google AI to detect if someone snatches your smartphone and tries to escape on foot, by bicycle, or in a car. When it detects this, it automatically locks the screen and blocks access to apps and files.
Offline Device Lock is a feature that turns on when a smartphone is offline for a long period of time. Android already has an anti-theft feature called ' Find My Device ,' which allows you to locate a lost device and remotely lock the screen, but it did not work if the device was offline. The new offline device lock makes it possible to protect a lost device even if it is offline.
Remote Lock is a feature that makes it easier to lock your screen than before. Previously, you needed your Google account password to lock your screen remotely, but with Remote Lock, you can lock it with just your phone number and a 'simple security challenge.'
