DRM-protected content cannot be viewed using Windows Media Player and Silverlight on Windows 7/8

The 'Legacy DRM Service' that was supported in Windows 7 and Windows 8 has been deprecated. The service will eventually be discontinued, and it will no longer be possible to watch DRM-protected content using Windows Media Player, etc. on older operating systems.

Microsoft has deprecated the 'legacy DRM services' used in Windows Media Player, Silverlight clients, Windows 7 and Windows 8, and has announced that the complete discontinuation of these services will mean that the following features will no longer work:
・Playing 'protected content' with Windows Media Player Legacy in Windows 7
Playing 'protected content' with Silverlight clients and Windows 8
- In-home streaming from Silverlight client or Windows 8 to Xbox 360
- Playing 'protected content' ripped from a personal CD using Windows Media Player in Windows 7
