Making part replacement even easier is the 'Repair Assistant' included in iOS 18.

According to AppleInsider, a news site that provides detailed Apple information, if you repaired part of an iPhone yourself, it was possible that the function would not work properly, but by using 'Repair Assistant', it is possible to correctly recognize the replacement part.

For example, if you replace your battery with a third-party one, you can set it to be the same as the original Apple battery.

However, it is not yet clear whether other parts such as displays will be treated in the same way.

There are also concerns about how to distinguish between parts legitimately obtained from broken iPhones and parts taken from stolen iPhones, but news site 9to5Mac allays these concerns by pointing out that Apple has already introduced a feature that allows users to remove the activation lock on Macs that are no longer in use.
