Musk reposted the news that 'Prime Minister Starmer is considering setting up emergency detention camps in the Falkland Islands (off the coast of Argentina in the South Pacific) because prison capacity is reaching its limit due to the large number of people detained due to the riots.' Although it looks like the Daily Telegraph , a British daily newspaper, it is fake news. Musk added the comment ''Emergency detention camps' ...' when reposting.
The original post Musk reposted was by Ashley Simon , co-founder of Britain First , a well-known far-right political party.
According to Josh Self of the news site Politics.co.uk, Musk's repost was viewed by about 1 million people in 15 minutes and 1.8 million people in 30 minutes.

The Daily Telegraph denied the existence of the original article, saying: 'Images have been circulating purporting to be from a Telegraph article about 'emergency detention centres' in X, but no such article has been published in the Telegraph.'

No such article has ever been published by the Telegraph.
Musk later deleted the repost, and Simon deleted the original post.
Musk drew backlash from the British government when he wrote that 'civil war is inevitable' in response to riots sparked by false information that a murder suspect in Southport, northwest England, was an immigrant.
