At the time of Chromecast's release, most TVs did not have app capabilities, streaming features were unreliable and complicated, and connecting TVs to smartphones, tablets, and PCs was complicated and difficult. Chromecast was Google's answer to address these issues, and it emerged as a simple way to cast your favorite online content to your TV screen, and it was easy to use by simply connecting the device and pressing play. Chromecast was compact, easily hidden behind the TV, and affordable, which made it accessible to millions of people and gained a large user base.
