The official character of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Omaezaki Sub-Base, 'Omaneko', will appear at Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer]



A 1/9 scale version of ' Omaneko -kun,' a character that appeared in the 'Official Character Selection' held by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Omaezaki Sub-Base in 2022 and received a huge response online, was exhibited at

Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer] .

The exhibit was at Yoshihina 's dealer booth 'Hinamori (booth number: 4-15-11)'. In addition, Omaneko-kun will only be exhibited at this Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer], and there are no plans to exhibit it after that.



The title of the copyright application for Omaneko-kun is 'Omaezaki Sub-Base Official Character Omaneko'. As an official character of the Self-Defense Forces, posters promoting the activities of the Self-Defense Forces and the official X account of Omaezaki Sub-Base were also on display.



Omaneko-kun's height is set to be 176cm or 40m, but since it is 1/9 scale and tabletop size, this time we have the 176cm version of Omaneko-kun.



His eyes are red and gold, and his clothes are a digital camouflage pattern made up of rectangular blocks. Omaneko-kun is male.



He has soft, squishy looking paws and a plump lower body. Omaneko-kun is a male.

In addition, Merodon, the official character of the Omaezaki Sub-Base like Omaneko-kun, was on display at the Madoromitei (5-17-01) booth. It has a sharp body like a chamois, huge arms, and a head shaped like a melon, which is its main feature.



By the way, this is the Merodon design unveiled by the Omaezaki Sub-Base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and you can see that it has been boldly arranged.



In Madoromitei's design, the upper hemisphere of the head is

a radome and the lower hemisphere is a melon. With this, it may be easier to understand why it can run at speeds of over Mach 5.
