I tried three kinds of Domino's Pizza 'K-FOOD Quattro' that condenses popular Korean dishes such as bibimbap and fried chicken into one pizza, and four kinds of side dishes from Korean food stalls
Domino's Pizza's Korean food pizzas, ' K-FOOD Quattro ', ' Chicken Twist K-FOOD Quattro ' and ' Prinkle Chicken Twist K-FOOD Quattro ', inspired by Korean cuisine, will be available as limited-time menu items from July 1 (Mon) to August 8 (Thu), 2024. In addition, side dishes inspired by Korean food stalls, ' Mochimochi Cheese Ball ', ' Fried Chicken Yangnyeom ', ' Prinkle Crispy Chicken ' and ' Prinkle French Fries ', will also be offered at the same time, so I tried them to see what they tasted like.
K-Food | Domino's Pizza
Three types of K-FOOD quattro and four side dishes have arrived at the editorial office.
First, I tried the K-FOOD Quattro (medium size, 3,790 yen including tax). The dough is regular.
K-FOOD Quattro consists of four flavors. This is 'Korean Bibimbap', which is a pizza dough topped with butter rice, namul, charcoal grilled beef and sliced egg. The fragrant aroma of the butter rice stimulates your appetite, and the crispy texture of the namul and the sweet and spicy gochujang sauce make it a taste that is certainly reminiscent of bibimbap.
'Cheese Korean Fried Chicken' is Korean fried chicken and namul topped with Camembert sauce. The Korean fried chicken has a tingling spiciness, and the crispy batter and namul have an exquisite texture. The cheese makes the spiciness a little milder, so even people who don't like spicy food can enjoy it.
'Korean Fried Chicken with Prinkle Powder' is a dish where 'Prinkle Powder', which is used to season Korean fried chicken, is sprinkled on top of Korean fried chicken and namul. Prinkle Powder is made from Hokkaido sweet corn, so the aroma and taste are similar to potage corn soup. The sweet and spicy taste of the Korean fried chicken is combined with the gentle sweet aroma of the corn, creating a complex flavor.
'Korean Kalbi,' beef ribs marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce and topped with garlic, is a popular staple menu item at Domino's Pizza.
Chicken Twist K-FOOD Quattro (M size, 4,410 yen including tax) looks like this.
If you look at the edges of the dough, you can see that they are twisted, and pieces of Korean fried chicken are sandwiched between the twists.
The four flavors are the same as K-FOOD Quattro. The dough is twisted and woven, giving it a fluffy and chewy texture. The Korean fried chicken filling adds volume to the bun.
This is the Prinkle Chicken Twist K-FOOD Quattro (M size, 4510 yen including tax).
It has the same dough as the Chicken Twist and K-FOOD Quattro, but it is topped with a generous amount of Prinkle Powder.
The four flavors are the same as K-FOOD Quattro. The addition of Prinkle Powder adds a sweet corn aroma and saltiness to the whole dish, making it quite junky. The gochujang sauce is sweet and spicy, but the sweetness is amplified by the Prinkle Powder, making the spiciness a little milder.
Next, we tried four side dishes. This was the Chewy Cheese Ball (490 yen including tax).
As the name suggests, it is a deep-fried round dough filled with cheese. It is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It is also topped with a slightly sweet sprinkle powder.
The Prinkle French Fries (450 yen including tax) are fries topped with a generous amount of Prinkle powder.
The deep fried fries are infused with the aroma of Prinkle Powder, giving them a buttery taste. The sweetness of the Prinkle Powder and the potatoes is outstanding, making them more like a snack than a side dish or appetizer.
Fried chicken yangnyeom (690 yen including tax).
It has a nice spicy kick, but the sauce is a little on the sweet side.
Prinkle Crispy Chicken (590 yen including tax) looks like this.
It is covered with plenty of prinkle powder, and the moment you put it in your mouth, the aroma and sweetness of corn soup spreads. The chicken itself is small, but the batter is crispy and has a good texture. The meat is well seasoned and has a strong flavor, so it might be good as a snack.
The three K-FOOD Quattro dishes and four side dishes can be ordered at Domino's Pizza locations nationwide from Monday, July 1, 2024. This is a limited-time menu available until Thursday, August 8, so if you're interested, we recommend checking it out early.
