A sequel to the anime 'Kaiju No. 8' has been confirmed, and Kouki Uchiyama will take on the role of Gen Narumi, Japan's strongest anti-monster force.



The anime series ' Kaiju No. 8 ,' which began airing in April 2024, aired its final episode on Saturday, June 29th, and during the broadcast it was announced that a sequel will be produced.

Kaiju No. 8 is a manga by Naoya Matsumoto that has been serialized on the manga app Jump+ since July 2020. It is a popular work with a total circulation of 14 million copies, including digital versions, and has won first place in the Web Manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2021 , the Grand Prize in the ebookjapan Manga Awards 2022 , and third place in the Men's Edition of This Manga is Amazing! 2022. The latest volume, 13, is scheduled to be published on July 4, 2024.



The anime will begin airing on TV Tokyo affiliates on April 13, 2024. In addition, to coincide with the broadcast, it was also streamed worldwide in real time on X (formerly Twitter), which created a lot of excitement.



In the 12th episode 'Hibi no Kafka', which aired on June 29, 2024, the captain of the 1st Defense Force Division, Narumi Gen, appears and it was revealed that he will be played by Uchiyama Koki .

After the broadcast, a special video was shown announcing the sequel. The video ends with Narumi, played by Uchiyama, shouting, 'First Unit, let's mobilize! We'll smash them all.'

I'm Kouki Uchiyama, the voice of Narumi Gen. After reading the original work, I realized that Narumi Gen is an interesting character with many different elements, so I went into the recording with that charm in mind. The episode had a very passionate content, so the dubbing studio was filled with excitement, and I felt that the recording had progressed in a good atmosphere. I hope that you will continue to enjoy both the original work and the anime of 'Kaiju No. 8'.
