A problem specific to chat AI is that while it can speak fluently like a human, it can also speak things that are not true as if they were true, which is called 'hallucination.' In the past, Amazon's AI, 'Amazon Q,' was also pointed out as leaking confidential information such as the location of data centers through hallucinations.

'To be honest, we can't guarantee that Apple Intelligence won't produce false or misleading information,' Cook said in an interview with The Washington Post.

'I think we've done everything we could, including thinking very carefully about responsiveness in the areas where we use the technology, so I'm confident that Apple Intelligence will be of very high quality,' Cook said.

At WWDC24, it was also announced that ChatGPT will partner with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT with Siri. In the demo of the feature shown at WWDC24, a disclaimer was displayed at the bottom of the ChatGPT answer saying, 'Please make sure there are no errors in any important information.'

When asked by The Washington Post about plans to integrate other AIs into Apple products, Cook responded, 'Apple chose OpenAI first because they are a pioneer in privacy and have the best AI models available today. We are in discussions with other companies about integrating other AI models.'

In fact, Apple's senior vice president Craig Federighi has said that Google's AI, Gemini, may be integrated into Apple products.
