NVIDIA announces guidelines for easy-to-understand graphics cards for small PCs
Small form factor (SFF) PCs pack high-performance components into a small case, making it easier to install and transport a high-performance PC. However, it can be a lot of work to check whether components such as graphics cards are compatible with small cases. Therefore, NVIDIA has announced that it will work with graphics card and PC case manufacturers to introduce 'SFF-Ready Guidelines' that will allow users to quickly determine whether the GeForce RTX series is compatible with SFF cases.

In recent years, computer components have become smaller and more efficient, leading many PC case manufacturers to release SFF-compatible lineups, but component compatibility is still an issue and buyers must scrutinize specifications or ask experienced people to check whether there is enough space for components and cables.
As individual components become more powerful, it becomes more difficult to determine whether a graphics card will fit into a small PC case.
The GeForce RTX series comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, and case manufacturers will also state their product dimensions on their websites.
However, determining whether an SFF case has clearance for power cables and connectors can be a tedious process.
That's why NVIDIA has worked with graphics card and PC case manufacturers to introduce the SFF-Ready Guidelines, which clearly show the compatibility of graphics cards with SFF cases, making it easier for GeForce RTX gamers to determine which SFF cases are compatible with which graphics cards.
GeForce graphics cards that comply with the SFF-Ready guidelines meet the following requirements for the RTX 4070 and later: 'maximum height 151mm including the bending radius of the power cable,' 'maximum length 304mm,' and 'maximum thickness 50mm or 2.5 slots.'
An SFF case that adheres to SFF-Ready guidelines will have the space and card-to-side panel distance to accommodate this measurement.
As of June 2, 2024, NVIDIA and its partners ASUS, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac have 36 GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards that meet the SFF-Ready guidelines.
In addition, at the time of writing, SFF case manufacturers that have a lineup that meets the SFF-Ready guidelines in cooperation with NVIDIA are Cooler Master, Corsair, Fractal Design, InWin, KOLINK, Lian Li, MSI, NCASE, NZXT, Phanteks, SilverStone, Sliger, and Thermaltake.
'As avid supporters of the SFF community, we're proud to partner with NVIDIA to deliver powerful performance in compact, space-saving designs,' said Kent Jeng, corporate vice president and general manager of Multimedia at ASUS. 'Our SFF-enabled GeForce graphics cards and cases enable you to experience the full potential of SFF.'
Manufacturer product pages and retailer listings will soon be updated to display 'SFF-Ready GeForce Cards' on graphics cards that meet the SFF-Ready guidelines, and 'Compatible with SFF-Ready GeForce Cards' on cases.
