Trump has previously expressed skepticism about virtual currencies, but in recent years his views have softened. At the Libertarian National Convention held in May 2024, he said he 'feels positive and open-minded' about the virtual currency industry.

On the other hand, Musk has long been interested in virtual currencies, and has frequently mentioned one such currency, Dogecoin. In February 2021, he posted 'Dogecoin is the people's virtual currency,' which attracted people's attention and caused a rise in the price of Dogecoin, which had become popular due to the GameStop stock issue .

In March 2023, Musk also reported that 'Eventually, you will be able to purchase Tesla cars with Dogecoin.'

Trump, who has been impressed by Musk's interest in virtual currencies, has reportedly discussed virtual currency policy with Musk. According to a Trump insider, the possibility of inviting Musk to speak at the Republican National Convention has also been discussed. However, it seems that no final decision has been made on whether Musk will attend the Republican National Convention.

In addition, the Wall Street Journal reported that 'discussions are underway about Musk becoming a policy adviser to Trump if he wins the presidential election, and the specific form of this position is also being discussed.'

According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump and Musk discussed 'ways for Musk to have formal input and influence over economic and border security policy.'

Musk, on the other hand, said, 'I have never discussed cryptocurrency with Trump, but I am in favor of transferring power from the government to the people, and cryptocurrency accomplishes this.'
