On May 15, 2024, Intel announced ' Thunderbolt Share ,' which allows two PCs to share screens, keyboards, files, etc. using the high-speed interface standards '

The following requirements are required to use Thunderbolt Share.

- Two PCs with Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 ports
- The OS is Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 cable for connection
- Intel graphics driver version 0.101.4826 or later
・Install the Thunderbolt Share app

By using Thunderbolt Share, you can share desktops and files, synchronize files, and control keyboards and mice between two PCs with a bandwidth that is more than 10 times that of a wired LAN connection. Thunderbolt Share also makes migration to a new PC faster.

In addition, when connecting two PCs, Thunderbolt Share enables uncompressed screen sharing while maintaining the resolution of the source computer. Intel claims that 'the latency for screen, keyboard, and mouse operations is extremely low.'

The Thunderbolt Share app will be available for download in early June 2024. A Thunderbolt Share certification program will also be launched, and certified PCs will have a logo sticker attached. In order to use Thunderbolt Share, one of the two PCs must be Thunderbolt Share certified.

'This technology realizes our desire to bring innovative solutions to market and provide new experiences that help users get the most out of their PCs,' said Jason Ziller, vice president and general manager of Client Connectivity at Intel. Ziller also said that Thunderbolt Share will initially only support Windows-based PCs, but that it could be expanded to other operating systems in the future.

According to Intel, Thunderbolt Share-enabled PCs and accessories will be available from Acer, Belkin, Kensington, Lenovo, MSI, Plugable, Promise Technology, and Razer in the second half of 2024. Intel also said, 'More partners plan to release Thunderbolt Share-enabled products in the future.'
