The director, scriptwriter, and character designer will be Kiyotaka Oshiyama , who has worked on ' Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance' and ' The Wind Rises .' The full text of Director Oshiyama's comment is as follows:
Animators and animation directors have a similar approach to their work as manga artists, and when I read the manga, I was deeply connected to the story, and I also felt a certain empathy for Fujimoto-sensei, who ended up drawing 'Look Back.' That's why I felt I could make a film that I could honestly relate to. I'm grateful to Fujimoto-sensei, the monster manga artist who kindly lent me the original work, and I believe that there are things that I can draw as an artist who has been in the world of animation expression, so I'm aiming to make a film that is a little different from the manga.
The nationwide release date for 'Look Back' is Friday, June 28, 2024. Advance tickets in the form of movie tickets will be available for purchase from Friday, May 17 for 1,600 yen (tax included) and come with a special 'reversible four-panel comic bookmark' (3 designs available).
