Intel's game quality improvement technology 'XeSS 1.3' further improves performance and reduces ghosting

Intel has announced a new version of its Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) technology, XeSS 1.3, which improves game image quality. XeSS 1.3 improves performance without compromising frame rate in compatible titles, allowing you to play games with better image quality.

To show how much performance is improved with XeSS 1.3, Intel has shown the fps figures for seven titles -

Hitman 3 , Cyberpunk 2077 , Hogwarts Legacy , The Witcher 3 (update for next-gen consoles) , Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 , Diablo IV , and GhostRunner 2 - when played in three different environments: without HD, with XeSS, and with XeSS 1.3.

Below are the results on Intel Arc A750 graphics . In both environments, XeSS 1.3 recorded higher values than the previous version of XeSS. In particular, in 'Diablo IV', there is a 28% improvement in frame rate compared to XeSS.

Here's the result on

an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H with integrated Arc Graphics. The frame rate is at least 8% higher.

Below are the frame rates when running 'Cyberpunk 2077' on various settings on Xess and Xess 1.3.
XeSS achieved 66 fps with performance settings, while XeSS 1.3 achieved 65 fps with balanced settings, 71 fps with performance settings, and 77 fps with ultra performance settings.

The demonstration video that has been released also shows improved anti-aliasing and reduced ghosting.

The XeSS 1.3 developer kit is available on GitHub.
