What would happen if you completely customized your agricultural tractor?
Carl Dodge, an agricultural YouTuber who customized John Deere's agricultural tractor, which handles a wide range of agricultural machinery, explained what parts were attached and what specifically it could do.
Mr. Dodge's tractor has a lot of displays, and you can see that various numbers and a screen like a car navigation system are displayed.
First of all, this meter installed on the right side is called 'Clean Sweep Controller'.
This is a device that uses air pressure to raise and lower the 'claw' part of the tiller.
The nails look like this.
This black device is for deploying a 'planter' for planting seeds.
The planter is normally folded.
By playing with the device, it will grow straight like an arm.
Next is a device called 'Raven Controller'.
This is for properly discharging nitrogen fertilizer.
'RATE' is '15.0', which is a setting that discharges 15 gallons of fertilizer per acre.
When you switch the display, the ground speed of the tractor is also displayed. The following notation is 5 miles per hour (approximately 8 km per hour). This information is sent to a flow meter that calculates the amount of fertilizer discharged, ensuring proper fertilizer application.
This is the main controller.
It can be used to control tractor lights, etc.
Additionally, it is possible to adjust the oil pressure gauge that operates the planter arm and the machine that delivers nitrogen fertilizer.
Naturally, power is required to operate these displays, and there are also displays that manage that power all at once. This device not only records and displays power consumption, but also allows you to download the recording later.
This is the car navigation-like display you saw at the beginning. It displays where the tractor will pass through the farmland, and is also used as a screen to manage the tractor's automatic driving function. This information is also sent to the John Deere app so you can see at a glance where your tractor is currently traveling.
This is an iPad.
I am running an app called
Some of the parts Dodge introduced are available for purchase from farm equipment retailer Precision Planting .
