In a memo sent by Mozilla to employees on February 13, 2024, approximately 60 people, mainly employees involved in product development, were cut. A Mozilla spokesperson said: 'We are reducing investment in some product areas to focus resources on areas where we believe they have the best chance of success. 'We intend to re-prioritize our resources towards products such as Firefox for Mobile , which have a good chance of establishing a better model,' he reported to overseas media Engadget.

Mozilla announced that on February 8, 2024 , Mitchell Baker , who has served as the company's CEO since 2020, will retire and assume the position of chairman. Mr. Chambers, a Mozilla director, has been appointed as interim CEO to replace Mr. Baker.



Under Chambers, Mozilla plans to reduce investment in products such as

Mozilla VPN , Firefox Relay , and the recently announced Mozilla Monitor Plus on February 7, 2024. In addition to being reported, Mozilla has revealed that it will focus on introducing ``trustworthy AI'' into Firefox in the future.

In preparation for the introduction of AI, Mozilla will reorganize its organization by bringing together the AI/ML teams that support `` pocket '' and `` content '' into the Firefox team.
