An easter egg hidden in Meta's Instagram app has revealed that Threads will be released in Europe at 12:00 local time on December 14, 2023.

In July 2023, Meta released Threads, a text-based SNS application that replaces X (formerly Twitter).

An easter egg hidden in the Instagram app has revealed that Threads will finally be available in Europe.

In the Instagram app, if you enter 'ticket' in the search field, a red ticket with 'ADMIT ONE' written on it will be displayed at the right end of the search field. Tap this.

You will then see a profile card for Threads users like the one below. If you are an existing Threads user, your profile card will display ``How long have you been using Threads?'' and ``Account Name.''

When this profile card is displayed by a user in Europe who has not used Threads yet, the top of the screen will say 'Threads EU launch' and the date information will read 'December 14th, 12:00.' It will be displayed. 9to5Google, who discovered this easter egg, notes that an Instagram account based in France displayed this profile card.
