Photo review of 'Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K', a cinema camera that supports L mount and can shoot 6K video
Blackmagic Design, a comprehensive video equipment manufacturer, announced the L-mount compatible cinema camera ' Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K ' on September 5, 2023. I had the opportunity to borrow and actually touch the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K, so I took a closer look at its appearance.

The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K cosmetic case looks like this.
I opened the makeup box.
The upper part of the inner box contained the manual, Davinci Resolve Studio 18 serial code, AC cable for phantom power, battery, outlet adapter for battery charging, and shoulder strap.
The bottom of the inner box looks like this.
Contains the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K body, battery charging mount, and Micro USB cable.

With the lens mount removed. It is a large full-frame sensor with a native resolution of 6048 x 4032 pixels, approximately three times the size of a Super 35mm sensor, allowing open gate shooting using the entire image sensor area. The lens is compatible with L mount.
There are heat exhaust vents on the left and right sides of the top of the lens mount.
The bottom looks like this. It has two 1/4 inch screw holes.
You can insert the battery from the bottom of the grip on the left side when facing the front. Battery life is nominally 60 minutes with 6K RAW recording at 24fps on a CFexpress card and screen brightness at 50%.
There was also an exhaust vent at the bottom of the lens mount for discharging heat.
There is one 1/4 inch screw hole and an accessory shoe on the top. A power switch, three types of function buttons, and various other buttons are arranged.
On the back is a 5-inch large LCD touch display monitor and various buttons.
The LCD monitor can be angled as shown below.
I put in the battery, turned on the power, and tried displaying the LCD monitor. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels and the brightness is up to 1500 nits.
On the left side, there is one 3.5mm audio input and output, an HDMI terminal, a USB-C port, two mini-XLR ports, and one 12V phantom power supply. All terminals are covered with rubber covers.

The right side is a grip, and a grooved silicone material is pasted on it.
There is one CFexpress card slot on the back side. Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K supports two types of storage: CFexpress cards and external storage via USB-C.
When I measured the weight of the main unit with the battery included, it was 1229g.
The suggested retail price of Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K is 399,800 yen including tax.
