Terasawa was born on March 30, 1955 in Asahikawa, Hokkaido.
In 1976, he moved to Tokyo and studied under Osamu Tezuka. In 1977, while he was a member of the Tezuka Production Manga Department, his work ``Daichi, Be Blue'' was selected as an honorable mention at the Tezuka Prize. `` Cobra '' was published as a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump, making his debut as a manga artist.
``Cobra'' began serialization the following year in 1978, and a total of 18 volumes had been published by the end of the series in 1985.
In addition, the movie ``Cobra SPACE ADVENTURE'' was released as the first animated work during the series. Released in July 1982.
Three months after the movie was released, the TV anime ``Space Cobra'' (all 31 episodes) began broadcasting in October 1982.

After finishing the serialization of 'Cobra' in Weekly Shonen Jump, the first color of ' BLACK KNIGHT Bat ', which was published as the second work, announced CG using a system built originally based on PC-9801. Since 1992, we have serialized the world's first full-color digital manga `` Takeru '' in Comic Burger.
After being serialized in Jump, 'Cobra' was transferred to Super Jump and continued. Furthermore, the story was spun by moving the comic flapper, COMIC Hu, to the magazine in which it was published. In terms of anime, a new work ``COBRA THE ANIMATION'' (6 OVA volumes) was announced in 2008, the 30th anniversary of ``Cobra'', and a new TV anime series (13 episodes in total) was broadcast in 2009.
Terasawa was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 1998, and since then has continued writing while undergoing treatment. Commenting on his death due to myocardial infarction, Terasawa Production representative Manabu Furuse said, ``Even after undergoing three brain tumor surgeries, Takeichi Terasawa survived with the vitality of Cobra himself.
