The high-end models of the iPhone series, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which are the latest models at the time of article creation, use stainless steel for their frames. However, it is rumored that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will be released in the fall of 2023, will use titanium as the frame material.

Some iPhone-related leaks say that the frame of the iPhone 15 Pro will be made of grade 5 titanium.

Meanwhile, MacRumors reported that it had obtained information on the dimensions and weight of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max through its own route. The dimensions and weight of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max reported by MacRumors are as follows.

◆iPhone 15
Length 147.6mm x width 71.6mm x thickness 7.8mm, weight 171g

◆iPhone 15 Pro
Length 146.6mm x width 70.6mm x thickness 8.25mm, weight 188g

◆iPhone 15 Pro Max
Length 159.9mm x width 76.7mm x thickness 8.25mm, weight 221g

The dimensions and weight of the previous generation iPhone 14 series are as follows.

◆iPhone 14
Length 146.7mm x width 71.5mm x thickness 7.8mm, weight 172g

◆iPhone 14 Pro
Length 147.5mm x width 71.5mm x thickness 7.85mm, weight 206g

◆iPhone 14 Pro Max
Length 160.7mm x width 77.6mm x thickness 7.85mm, weight 240g

The standard model iPhone 15 has almost unchanged dimensions and weight from the iPhone 14, and is likely to be the model with the least changes in the entire lineup. According to MacRumors sources, the frame of the iPhone 15 will be the same aluminum frame as the iPhone 14, and the internal structure will not change significantly, so there will not be any major changes in dimensions or weight. MacRumors does not report the dimensions and weight of the iPhone 15 Plus, but writes, ``It is safe to say that the size difference between the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 14 Plus is minimal at best.''

On the other hand, it seems that the weight of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be significantly reduced from iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This seems to be largely due to the change in frame material from stainless steel to titanium. According to sources, the titanium used in the iPhone 15 Pro is grade 5 titanium (titanium alloy), which is called 'Ti-6Al-4V.' Ti-6Al-4V is a titanium alloy used in various industries and is a material known for its excellent corrosion resistance.

It has also been revealed that the thinness of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will increase to 8.25mm. MacRumors pointed out, ``Given that Apple has traditionally cited thinness as a selling point for certain devices, the change to make the body thicker is interesting.'' However, MacRumors also points out that the iPhone 15 Pro's display bezels will be narrower than before, so the increase in thickness may not be noticeable. It is

rumored that the iPhone 15 Pro will adopt LIPO technology for the display, and the bezel width is expected to be reduced from the current model's 2.2 mm to 1.55 mm.

However, the information obtained by MacRumors is only 'pre-mass production information'. As such, MacRumors notes that production units may not reflect these dimensions and weights.
