A picture of a whale standing still in the sea with its tail protruding from the surface of the sea is photographed

Australia's TikToker has successfully captured a video of a humpback whale standing upside down in the ocean. Whales took a pose called '

tail sailing ' in which their tail fins protrude from the surface of the sea, but it is known that such behavior is rarely observed.

Below is a video taken by Mr. Brody Moss who was kayaking in the sea.

Mr. Moss approaches when he finds a humpback whale with its tail fin sticking out of the water.

If you look in the sea, you can see one whale standing still with its head down, and another smaller whale swimming beside it.

There are few sightings of 'tail sailing,' in which whales stick their tail fins out of the water, and it is unknown why they behave this way. One theory is that by cooling the tail fin where many blood vessels gather, it absorbs and releases heat in the body.

Long-term studies from 1989 to 2000 have documented occasional whale tail sails that ranged from a few seconds to 12 minutes. This behavior has been seen in solitary whales, mother whales, and pregnant female whales, and when the mother whale took this behavior, the calf was usually swimming around it.

Although some reports have confirmed lactation during tail sailing, it seems that tail sailing is not generally done for lactation because whales may lactate in other postures.

Mr. Moss, who had a valuable experience, said, ``My heart was about to explode.'' ``I hope this video will help scientists further understand.''
