According to the Justice Department complaint, the accused was Wang Weibao, a software engineer who worked at Apple from 2016 to 2018. Former Apple employees accused of similar crimes include Xiaoran Zhang, who attempted to flee the country but was detained at San Jose airport, and Zijun Chen, who was accused of stealing confidential information in 2019. It's the first person.

Since 2017, Wang has received a request from the American branch of a Chinese company that was developing automatic driving technology, and has been stealing confidential information from Apple. The information also included source code related to automatic driving technology.

Law enforcement raided Wang's home in June 2018 and found sensitive data stolen. Even after the house search, Wang said he would not run away, but fled the country to Guangzhou. If extradited, he could face up to 10 years in prison for each charge.

Wang was charged with Chan's admission of guilt, and the two worked at Apple at the same time and both retired in 2018.

Regarding Apple's self-driving car development project 'Project Titan', analyst Minchi Kuo, who is known for providing highly accurate Apple information, commented, 'The team has been dissolved.' Despite being denied in interviews with members who worked on the project at Apple, it has been reported that members have changed rapidly and are being skeptical of CEO Tim Cook and Vice President Craig Federigi.
