The bill was named the MATURE Act, which stands for 'Making Age-Verification Technology Uniform, Robust, and Effective Act.' rice field. The MATURE Act requires social media companies not to allow users to create accounts unless they can verify that they are over the age of 16.

Hawley is also filing the Federal Social Media Research Act to commission a government report on the harm of social media to children.
