I tried two kinds of matcha brown rice tea drinks such as Japanese-style frappuccino 'Matcha brown rice tea mochi frappuccino' with Starbucks finely chopped 'mochi'
Drinks based on matcha and brown rice tea ' Matcha Genmaicha Mochi Frappuccino ' and ' Matcha Genmaicha Mousse Tea Latte ' appeared in Starbucks. I was able to enjoy the fragrant taste of two types of tea, so I actually drank it to see what it tasted like.
Starbucks' new year-end and New Year tea beverages that will make you want to take a break from December 26th (Monday), such as Frappuccino®, tea latte, etc. that combine matcha and brown rice tea with mochi! | Starbucks Coffee Japan
I purchased Tall size of 'Matcha Genmaicha Mochi Frappuccino (left)' and 'Matcha Genmaicha Mousse Tea Latte (right)' at Starbucks.
'Mochi Frappuccino' is topped with whipped cream, matcha mousse and white chocolate powder.
When I drank it with a straw, the fragrant matcha flavor mixed with bitterness and sweetness rushed into my mouth. When I hear 'Matcha', I always think of a bitter drink, but thanks to the milk and cream, it was finished in a rather sweet taste. The finely chopped mochi went through the straw and entered my mouth, and I was able to enjoy the soft texture.
I will continue to drink 'Mousse Tea Latte'. Mousse tea latte is served hot only. This is also topped with whipped cream, matcha mousse, and white chocolate powder.
The mousse tea latte had a much more bitter taste than the Mochi Frappuccino I drank earlier, so this is recommended for those who want to taste the bitterness of matcha. In addition to the faint sweetness of whipped cream, it was a beverage that you could enjoy the flavor of brown rice tea with the rich aroma of tea leaves and the bittersweet taste of matcha at the same time.
'Matcha Genmaicha Mochi Frappuccino' is only available in Tall size, and the price is 690 yen including tax for eat-in and 678 yen including tax for takeout. There are four sizes of 'Matcha Genmaicha Mousse Tea Latte': Short, Tall, Grande, and Venti.
