Life hard mode mathematician who experienced life on the car without getting a job announces ``Research results approaching the solution of the Riemann hypothesis''
On November 4, 2022, mathematician Zhang Yitang announced research results that may help solve the difficult mathematical problem `` Riemann Hypothesis ''. Mr. Zhang has a spectacular past, such as ``I worked as a laborer when I was a boy and could not receive an education'' and ``I was looking for a job while living in a car''. It's getting a lot of attention.

Born in Shanghai in 1955, Mr. Zhang independently discovered the Pythagorean theorem at the age of 9, and at the age of 10 began studying difficult mathematical problems such as Fermat's Last Theorem and the Goldbach Conjecture . From an early age, he showed a talent for mathematics. However, in 1966, the Cultural Revolution began, and Mr. Zhang left Shanghai to work in a remote area for 10 years. In addition, Zhang's father had trouble with the Chinese Communist Party, so Zhang was unable to attend high school and had no choice but to acquire knowledge by reading math books in his spare time.
After the Cultural Revolution ended, Mr. Zhang, who was 23 at the time, entered Peking University to study mathematics in earnest, and obtained a master's degree at the age of 29. Afterwards, Mr. Zhang went to the United States and received his doctorate from Purdue University in 1991. Mr. Zhang aimed to find a job at a research institute after obtaining his doctorate, but he was unable to obtain a letter of recommendation from his academic advisor, and his job search was difficult. Mr. Zhang admits that his introverted personality has led to his lack of appeal in the mathematics community as a reason for his difficulty in finding a job.
Mr. Zhang, whose job hunting for research institutes stagnated, began working at a sandwich shop Subway in 1992 while experiencing 'living in a car'. After that, in 1999, with the help of a friend, he started working as a mathematics lecturer at the University of New Hampshire . In recognition of this achievement, Mr. Zhang was appointed a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Then, on November 4, 2022, Mr. Zhang posted a theorem on 'Siegel's zero point' to arXiv, an unpeer-reviewed article publishing service. This theorem has become a hot topic among mathematicians as ``the theorem that may lead to the solution of the Riemann hypothesis''.
After Mr. Zhang announced his theorem, a post on the Internet said, 'For senior citizens like me who have become interested in mathematics and are trying to get a Ph.D., Mr. Zhang is like a hero.' We have received many posts praising our achievements.
