A man arrested for attaching an Apple Watch to a car tire to stalk his girlfriend



A 29-year-old man named Lawrence Welch was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, when he attached an Apple Watch to his girlfriend's car tires to track his location.

Welch, 29, was charged with attaching an Apple Watch to his girlfriend's car and was arrested on Friday, March 25, 2022. The victim woman told police, 'Welch has threatened to kill many times.'

Welch and her girlfriend, the victim woman, used an app called ' Life360 ' to share each other's location information. However, the victim woman had disabled Life360 when visiting the Family Service Center in Murfreesboro, so Welch was threatened with a text message.

According to police, Welch's attempted to track location by attaching an Apple Watch to the tires of an unreachable girlfriend's car. However, when police arrived at the scene after being contacted by the victim woman, an Apple Watch was found attached to the tire.

Welch was reportedly charged with domestic violence in July 2021 and was subsequently arrested in December.

In addition, since the appearance of Apple's drop tracker AirTag , damage such as attaching AirTag to the front wheel of the car has been reported.
