According to the revenue graph by music format, the music industry continued to grow until 1999, changing records, cassette tapes, CDs and media, but revenue began to decline from 2000 and subscriptions from 2016. It is gaining momentum again due to the growth of the music.

Among them, CD peaked at 13.2 billion dollars (about 1.55 trillion yen) in 2000 and has been declining, and it has dropped steadily except for recovering the number once in 2004, but in 2021 Sales were 584.2 million dollars (about 68.5 billion yen), which exceeded 483.2 million dollars (about 56.6 billion yen) in 2020.

In addition, while the CD is dropping numbers, the record is recovering sales, and in 2021, sales of 1 billion dollars (about 117 billion yen), which is about twice that of the CD, was recorded. Thanks to that, the physical media as a whole recorded $ 1.65 billion (about 193.5 billion yen), which is the increase in sales since 1996.
