Developers complain about iCloud bugs left unfixed by Apple for months

Since around November 2021, there have been a series of reports that 503 errors indicating server errors have occurred in apps and services that use Apple's iCloud. However, there have been a series of developer complaints that Apple hasn't resolved the issue and hasn't issued an official statement regarding the investigation.

This issue has been reported on Apple's developer forums since around November 2021.

Developers have reported that they see 'HTTP 503 Service Unavailable' when trying to make a particular attempt. The 503 error means that the request is not processed due to a problem on the server side, that is, on the Apple side, so there is no way for the developer to prevent it. Others write that although users of the app have reported bugs, the developers haven't recreated the bugs, so they can't even send a bug report to Apple.

GoodNotes , which is popular on the App Store, has had similar problems many times, and GoodNotes has released a support document.

Others have taken steps to address the issue by incorporating an 'iCloud Status Dashboard' into the app to show customers that iCloud isn't working. This is because many app users recognize that it's not an Apple issue, but an app issue.

The issue was reported to Apple's developer forums in November 2021,but there are claims that the issue was already reported in May 2021. However, Apple hasn't resolved the issue in January 2022, eight months later, and hasn't officially announced whether an investigation is underway.

MacRumors, an Apple-related information site, said it should raise awareness that it's an Apple issue, not an app issue.
