I have eaten 'parent and child cutlet' which boasts an overwhelming volume of juicy chicken cutlet and thick egg binding.

From the Tonkatsu specialty store 'Katsuya', a 'parent-child cutlet ' using oversized chicken thighs that can only be bound with two eggs has appeared. On the official page, I actually tried a dish with words that promote volume such as 'extra large', 'jumbo', and 'spilling from the bowl'.

That's why I came to Katsuya.

There are two types of 'parent-child cutlet' that you are looking for: 'parent-child cutlet bowl' that is served in a bowl and 'parent-child cutlet boiled' that is served in an iron pot. It is said that you can take the parent and child katsudon home with you, but this time I wanted to experience the heat of the iron pot, so I ordered the parent and child katsudon, which is limited to the store.

In less than 10 minutes after ordering, the simmered parent and child cutlet arrived. You can order the parent-child cutlet simmered separately, but this time I ordered the 'parent-child cutlet simmered set meal' that includes rice and pork soup.

This is the main simmered parent and child cutlet.

The cutlets are also laid under the cutlets that can be seen from above, and I get the impression that they were arranged three-dimensionally because they could not fit in the normal arrangement.

The cutlet on the upper side is about this size. The same amount of cutlet is laid under this, so it feels like it's a little less than twice the visible range in terms of volume.

Since it is 'simmered cutlet', the cutlet sucks the soup stock, but since it is freshly made, it makes a crispy sound when you eat it, and you can see that it is freshly fried. The chicken thighs inside are juicy, and when chewed, the umami is full of juiciness. The egg binding has a sweet soup stock, which goes well with chicken cutlets, and the trefoil on top is accented with a refreshing aroma.

The take-out 'parent-child katsudon' looks like this.

The way of serving is different, but even in the case of rice bowl, it is quite a volume.

Even if it becomes a bowl, the juicy chicken cutlet and the thick egg binding remain as they are. This is recommended for people who like how to eat rice bowls or who want to take it home.

The price of 'parent-child cutlet' is 649 yen including tax for the 'parent-child cutlet boiled' ordered separately, and 869 yen including tax for the 'parent-child cutlet boiled set meal' that includes rice and pork soup. 'Parent-child katsudon' is 759 yen including tax when ordering in the store and 745 yen including tax when taking out.
