Mr. Shirotsuchi was born in 1932 (Showa 7) as the eldest son of painter Toki Okamoto in Toyotama-gun, Tokyo (currently Suginami-ku, Tokyo).
After producing picture-story shows and writing four-frame manga published in bulletins, he became an assistant to shojo manga artist Kazuma Maki and made his debut in 1957.
