Intel's ultra-compact assembly PC 'NUC 11 Extreme Kit' that can build a high-spec gaming machine with your favorite grabbo is opened, an ultra-special cosmetic box that makes you feel like the moment you take out the weapon of the science fiction work

The NUC 11 Extreme Kit (codename: Beast Canyon), a

barebone kit for gamers equipped with the 11th generation Core processor (Tiger Lake) from Intel, will be released in the third quarter of 2021. I was able to rent an actual machine a little earlier, so I tried to use it, but I was overwhelmed even before using it for a super special cosmetic box that I had never seen before.

The NUC 11 Extreme Kit arrived in a cardboard box with a lot of kraft tape that says 'Caution for me'.

When I opened the lid, I saw that it was packed tightly with thick cushioning material.

Pull it out ...

The dressing box I took out is below. The shape is a hexagonal column, and the impression is that it is a huge and black-painted version of the Omikuji cylinder of the shrine.

Below is a photo comparing how big it is with a typical PET bottle or 1 liter size milk. The mood around here is 'Funny, this barebone kit should have been a touch of an ultra-small body ...'.

The actual weight is 14.45kg, which is quite heavy.

A skull mark is drawn on the top side of the hexagonal column.

The letters 'ENGINEERED TO WIN' are on the side. There are 'NUC11BTMi9' equipped with Core i9-11900KB and 'NUC11BTMi7' equipped with Core i7-11700B in NUC 11 Extreme Kit, but since I borrowed NUC11BTMi9 this time, the logo of 'Core i9' is also arranged. I am.

The vanity case is made of wood, and when you approach it, you can clearly see the grain of the wood and you can smell the wood.

So, I will actually open it and take out the contents. First, remove the notch on the top side ...

It seems that rails and wheels are built in under the main body storage part, and I was able to pull it out like this.

The main body fits like this. The mechanism that pulls out the storage part by putting your hand on the top of the main body is soaked in a mysterious feeling like pulling out the special weapon of the science fiction movie.

Inside was the NUC 11 Extreme Kit body and a small box.

The contents of the small box are the power cable. The kind of instruction manual is in a cardboard box separately from the cosmetic box.

The following is the main body of NUC 11 Extreme Kit. This is a size that is not ashamed of being 'ultra-compact' as a gaming PC that can mount a full-size graphic board, and the dimensions are 357 mm x 189 mm x 120 mm.

The actual weight is 5.05 kg. The weight of the dressing box is about 9kg when converted while taking into account the power cable, so the dressing box is much heavier than the main body.

The front looks like this.

The bottom side has a power button, two USB3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports, an SDXC card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The graphic board inside can be seen through the mesh on the side.

Honeycomb design on the top side. You can see three large 92mm fans through the mesh.

The back side is below.

Kensington security slot and power supply terminal near the top.

Below that, there are 6 USB3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports, a 2.5Gb Ethernet port, an HDMI 2.0b port, and 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports. The DisplayPort port x 3 on the right side and the HDMI port are from the graphic board '

ASUS DUAL-RTX3060-O12G ' that was inserted in the rental machine. Please note that the graphic board is not originally included.

On the bottom side, the serial key of Windows 10, the model number and serial number of the main body, the MAC address, etc. were written.

So, in the following article, I plan to disassemble this NUC 11 Extreme Kit and check what's inside.
