An autumn / winter limited version of 'Craft Boss', which makes coffee easy to drink, has appeared, so I tried drinking and comparing all types

From the Suntory '

CRAFT BOSS ' series, which is based on the concept of 'enjoying coffee slowly over time' with a PET bottle, ' Craft Boss Black Season Blend ', ' Craft Boss Specialty Fine Sugar Season Blend ', and ' Craft ' are available only for the fall / winter season. 'Boss Latte Season Blend ' is available from Tuesday, September 15, 2020. It is said that the aroma and taste are adjusted according to the season, so I actually drank and compared how much the taste changed with the craft boss so far.

First of all, from 'Craft Boss Black Season Blend'.

Since it is black, the only ingredients are coffee beans and spices. It seems that beans from Brazil and Ethiopia are used as coffee beans.

The content is 500ml and the calorie is almost 0kcal.

When I put the season blend (left) and the regular craft boss black (right) side by side, the package was very similar, but the label color was darker in the season blend.

In addition, the season blend has a home-based mark that says 'season blend', making it easy to distinguish.

I poured a drink into the cup to compare the contents. It looks exactly the same.

PET bottled beverages often have a weak aroma, but the season-blended black is neither too strong nor too weak, and the aroma of coffee spreads softly. A refreshing taste with no astringency or miscellaneous taste left in the aftertaste. The taste of coffee, which has less bitterness and is easy to drink, is a common feature of the Craft Boss series.

According to the official release, Season Blend 'strengthens the aroma of coffee' rather than the taste of coffee itself, so when I asked several editorial staff to compare Season Blend and the regular version, the taste was great. There was no difference. Regarding the scent, the results were divided, saying that 'season blend has a stronger scent' and 'the difference is difficult to understand'.

Next, 'Craft Boss Specialty Fine Sugar Season Blend'

The raw materials are milk, coffee, sugar, dairy products, etc.

Since it is 22 kcal per 100 ml, it is about 110 kcal per 500 ml of content.

If you put the season blend (left) and the regular version (right) side by side, the color of the label is the same, but the presence or absence of transparent parts and the arrangement of letters are slightly different. The red mark on the upper left is also a home-based type for the season blend, and the regular version is round.

If you pour it into a glass and compare the colors of the drinks, the season blend looks a little brighter.

When I drank it, the sweetness of sugar was modest and I could taste the coffee flavor firmly. The refreshing aftertaste is slightly inferior to black, but it has a mellow taste due to the addition of milk and sugar.

According to the official release, 'By increasing the proportion of deep roasted coffee, the richness is further strengthened', and when comparing the drinks, the regular version has a lighter taste. The season blend seems to have more milk mellowness and coffee flavor, and the bite satisfaction is higher with the season blend.

The last is 'Craft Boss Latte Season Blend'

Ingredients include milk, sugar, coffee and dairy products.

Since the calorie is 30 kcal per 100 ml, it is about 150 kcal per 500 ml of content.

If you line up the season blend (left) and the regular version (right) of the latte, you can see that there is a difference in the color of the drink and the season blend is a brighter shade. The label is a design that emphasizes white in the season blend.

When I drank the latte season blend, the mellowness of the milk was more pronounced than the specialty fine sugar. Compared to the regular version, the refreshing aftertaste is better in the regular version, but the mellowness and sweetness of the milk are stronger in the season blend. If you are tired and want to take a break with something sweet, we recommend the latte season blend.

'Craft Boss Black Season Blend' is 160 yen excluding tax, and 'Craft Boss Latte Season Blend' and 'Craft Boss Specialty Fine Sugar Season Blend' are 170 yen excluding tax, and can be purchased at convenience stores and supermarkets nationwide.
