The package of 'almond caramel corn' (left) and 'bitter caramel corn' (right) looks like this. The usual 'caramel corn' is familiar with the red package, but almond caramel corn is yellow and bitter caramel corn is brown.

Almond caramel corn is said to have crushed almonds in place of the roasted peanuts found in normal caramel corn.

Looking at the raw material names, you can see that 'peanuts' used in ordinary caramel corn are not included, but 'crushed almonds' and 'almond paste' are included. The content is 70g.

The energy per bag is 389kcal.

Let's put the contents on a plate. At first glance, it doesn't look much like normal caramel corn, but it doesn't contain roasted peanuts...

It contained fine crushed almonds.

The fragrant almond flavor is complemented by the gentle sweetness of the caramel, which is an addictive taste that you will lose sight of when you start eating. Since the corn puff was also covered with almond paste, I was able to enjoy the aroma of almonds without the almond grains.

Sterling caramel paste is used for bitter caramel corn, giving it a slightly bitter taste.

The raw material name is written as 'caramel paste (75% charred caramel paste)', and you can see that 'charred caramel paste' is used in addition to normal caramel paste. The content is 77g, slightly more than the almond caramel corn.

The energy per bag is 434 kcal.

When you put it on a plate, the color is slightly brownish.

If you compare bitter caramel corn (left) with normal caramel corn (right), you can see that bitter caramel corn is more brownish.

When you actually eat it, you can feel the bitterness of charred caramel firmly, and the combination of sweetness and bitterness is excellent. The caramel corn had a strong impression of sweetness, which was different from the usual caramel corn, and it had a deep flavor with a bitter aftertaste.

This time the regular caramel corn has also been renewed. If you compare the old package (left) and the new package (right), you can see that the new package is slightly larger.

The raw material name of conventional caramel corn is now...

This is the raw material name for the new caramel corn. In the renewed caramel corn, the notation of 'corn grits (not genetically modified)' has been changed to 'corn grits (domestic production)', or 'malt sugar' which is not used in conventional caramel corn is included, You can see small differences from the raw material part.

Also, with conventional caramel corn, it is 452kcal per 80g of bag...

The renewed caramel corn is 448kcal per 80g bag.

I tried to put all the contents of the old caramel corn (left) and the new caramel corn (right) on a plate.

The renewed caramel corn had the impression that the flavor of caramel that spreads the moment you put it in your mouth was slightly stronger than that of conventional caramel corn.

New flavors of 'almond caramel corn' (reference retail price: 122 yen without tax), 'bitter caramel corn' (reference retail price: 122 yen without tax), and the renewed 'caramel corn' (reference retail price: not including tax) 122 yen) will be available for purchase at retail stores nationwide from Monday, August 24, 2020.
