Magic: The Gathering is the world's first trading card game released in 1993 and published by Wizards of the Coast , an American game publisher. The Wizards of the Coast has removed the seven cards issued since 1994 as racist and removed them from the entire game, prohibiting them from being used in play. The card has also been removed from the game's official card gallery .

The Wizards of the Coast said, 'Over the past few weeks, we've had an ongoing conversation about how we can support people of color.' After the 2020 Minneapolis anti-racism demonstration spread in the United States, we announced that we will prohibit cards with racist content or cards with culturally offensive illustrations as prohibited cards.

The following seven cards were banned.

Invoke Prejudice

Cleanse

Stone-Throwing Devils

Pradesh Gypsies

Jihad

Imprison

Crusade

Invoke Prejudice, one of the banned cards, says, ``Whenever an opponent casts a creature spell that doesn't have a color in common with a creature you control, unless that player pays (X), Counter the spell. X is its converted mana cost.” An enchantment card with the effect, you can see that the effect is discriminatory.

Wizards of the Coast said, 'We have removed these card images from the official card gallery due to racist depictions, text or combinations thereof. We cannot tolerate any form of racism, There will be no whereabouts for these cards in the game as well.” It is also prohibited to use them at official competitions.
