It turned out that COBOL is still active in the future of 2029 drawn in the movie 'Terminator'
by TNS Sofres
A casual scene from the 1984 movie ' Terminator ' revealed the creator of the code for the system used in the film. Also, since the code was written in the programming language COBOL developed in 1959, COBOL is being used even in 2029.
Twitter user Thrill Science said on April 14, 2020, 'Cloudflare Chief Technology Officer John Graham-Cumming told me that the code I wrote was in the first Terminator. It was true when I actually checked it! 'And posted it on Twitter with an image that captured that one scene.
I received an email from John Graham-Cumming telling me my code was in the original Terminator movie. And it's true!

In this scene, Kyle Reese, a soldier of the human resistance army dispatched from the future of 2029, told Sarah Connor, the main character living in the 1984 era, `` In the future there will be a fierce war with the machine army aiming to kill humanity. It is a scene that explains that it is being done. It seems that it will be overlooked if you look at it normally, but in the lower right part of the cut of only 1 to 2 seconds showing the soldiers of the human resistance army capturing the mechanical reconnaissance aircraft, the program is certainly The character string that seems to be the code of is reflected.
According to Thrill Science, this code was posted in the May 1984 issue of the monthly magazine ' 73 ' dealing with amateur radio. If you take a closer look at the code at the bottom of the magazine that Thrill Science showed, you can see that it is the same code used in the movie.

Thrill Science said he didn't realize his code was reprinted in the movie until he received an email from Graham Cumming. It seems that he has seen the movie 'Terminator', but in the middle of that he said that he was only thinking 'Haha, future robots also use COBOL'.
.... and I had NO IDEA about this until I got this email.I remember seeing the movie and thinking 'HA! Robots from the future use COBOL'. Sadly, this may turn out to be true.

This program is for 'calculating the sum of integers from 0 to 1000', and it seems to be an example of learning code rather than a practical program.

'this program calculates the sum of integers from 0 to 1000'
Since the code of the programming language developed in 1959, 70 years ago, is reflected in the scene of the movie depicting the battlefield of 2029, Thrill Science's tweet said, 'What a hell! COBOL!' A surprising reply ...
OMG COBOL!

In addition, the unemployment insurance system of the United States-New Jersey is that COBOL is used has been talked about from that, I do not know why COBOL code in place, such as the maneuver screen of 'jet is displayed. Is the jet pilot also working on the unemployment insurance system in New Jersey in the air? '
Not sure why they're showing COBOL snippets inside of what appears to be a jet HUD. Is the pilot repairing the NJ unemployment system in the air?
