Boost Mobile is a prepaid cheap mobile carrier used in the US and Australia, and is Sprint 's prepaid mobile division. Sprint is also planning to merge with carrier T-Mobile and may sell Boost Mobile at the time of the merger. According to a source, Amazon is interested in using T-Mobile's wireless network for at least six years with the acquisition of Boost Mobile and using radio frequency bands.
Amazon's intent is unclear, as neither Amazon, Sprint, nor T-Mobile have returned comments to Reuters interviews.
Amazon started with the sale of books, and has delivered many original projects such as distributing original video works on a platform. The possibility of entering a new market is also conceivable, as we have already built a system to make calls via 'Alexa' installed on voice speakers and Amazon Echo.

As of May 2019, Sprint and T-Mobile are planning a $ 26.5 billion (about 2.9 trillion yen) merger, which will reduce the number of major carriers in the US from four to three. In light of the impact, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has not long been approved.
The FCC expressed an opinion allowing the merger on May 20, 2019, but has not yet received approval from the Justice Department. The Justice Department plans to stop the acquisition and also seek to sell other assets such as radio bands and businesses, while Sprint and T-Mobile are looking to reduce market share in the prepaid wireless business. It is possible that Amazon will acquire Boost Mobile if this sale is actually made.
According to an anonymous source that Reuters is considering acquiring, it is estimated that Boost Mobile will be worth $ 3 billion (about 3270 billion yen).
