No commission required · Project aiming to revitalize regional economy with distributed network type EC site 'Nile'

In recent years, the influence of Amazon and other huge enterprises has become stronger. Especially, Amazon has a very substantial product lineup and has acquired many users all over the world. For this reason, the number of customers coming to local shops is decreasing, which is the cause of the regional economy becoming slender. Therefore, Marco Custgnori is planning a " Nile " project that will make giant infrastructure that can not be defeated by Amazon with GitHub by everyone, and is looking for persons such as developers.

Nile aims at "making an EC site " like Amazon. This site is a mall-type EC site, and a lot of stores are opening up in Nile, so that the lineup of products is enriched. Also, the big difference with Amazon is that there is no need for a commission when opening a store in Nile, and the price paid for the product is set to 100% store side.

What is worrisome here is where Nile's operating expenses will be covered. In fact, many EC sites need to borrow datacenter facilities and operate by constructing large scale servers and network environments on their own. Of course, it is impossible to reduce these costs to zero.

Mr. Custgnori also admits that it is impossible to conduct the site without cost. Therefore, he is considering constructing the EC site as a distributed network type service using grid computing and block chain technology. By doing so, if you do not need to rent a data center, you do not have to build and operate a high-performance server, so we can reduce the running cost and labor costs of day-to-day operations. As a result, it seems that it is expected that day-to-day management will be established only by advertisement fee to be posted on Nile's service.

Mr. Cunninghnori is thinking about the strategy of revitalizing the local economy with regard to delivery. Nile plans to outsource the delivery to the local shipper (such as bicycle delivery) basically. Also, just as a store opens, Nile's products are delivered just like a store, no fee will be deducted, and the shipping fee will be paid to the 100% dealer. For this reason, Nile seems not to make any profit other than advertising fee.

At the time of writing the article, Mr. Cunninghnori is looking for developers to participate in the Nile project, "I would like to explore policies including how to construct a distributed environment with project participants."
