Why "blue" is used for SF movie screens?
Sci-fi movies use a design that makes us feel like the future that does not exist in modern times, but when I investigated science fiction movies published between 1968 and 2011, "Future device" that appears in the play I found that almost all the blue design is used for the screen and interface of the screen.

Sci-fi enthusiasts and designers Chris Noesse and Nathan Shedroff studied the design of contemporary design and science fiction film for several years, and books that guide contemporary success designs with reference to the science fiction film designMake It So: Interaction Design Lessons from Science Fiction"Was completed.
Below are the colors of the interface appearing in science fiction movies from 1968 to 2011, measured by extracting the average color and visually cataloged. Due to the warm color system being heavily used, there are years when the average color is red or brown, but almost all are blue series.
For reasons why blue is heavily used on screens of science fiction movies, Mr. Noesse considers "To make a mysterious, unnatural, inhuman-like impression" that "almost pure blue" does not exist in the natural world.
However, these tendencies do not mean that blue screens are used in the future. According to Noesse et al., The design of science fiction movies is born from the dialogue effect of contemporary design, in other words, it can be used as a reference for designing modern products. For example, Motorola sold a mobile phone called "MicroTAC", but the sales volume was sluggish.
So Motorola designersArgonne National LaboratoryWhen asking for advice, he received advice that "we should open upward like Star Trek rather than opening the terminal downward." From the MicroTAC which was designed to push the button when opening the bottom half of the main body, "StarTAC" like a folding type feature phone was born, StarTAC was a great success.
In the present age where smartphones and tablets are popular, devices that appear in old SF movies are realized. In designing modern products and interfaces, it seems to be reasonable to refer to science fiction movies depicting the future.
