`` BLINQ '' where artificial intelligence automatically determines gender, age and attractiveness just by uploading a face photo

The web application ' BLINQ ' is a service that uses the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) to easily determine the age, gender and even attractiveness of the person in the uploaded photo. I actually uploaded the image and checked the progress of AI when I was interested.

Let Artificial Intelligence guess your attractiveness and age | ETH Zürich & BLINQ dating app

First, let the AI judge the age and attractiveness of the sample image. With the image of the woman in the center, click 'TRY THIS PHOTO'.

Wait for a while ...

The analysis result was displayed like this. Below the image, '♀ (female) 25 years (25 years old)' is displayed, and below that, six levels of 'attractive' are displayed. This woman has a fairly high reputation for being 'Stunning' (very attractive).

BLINQ's AI can analyze various photos. For example, such a strange face is OK. But of course the evaluation stopped at 'OK' ...

Celebrities are OK.

People who are too famous are OK.

Of course, you can also upload your own images and let AI determine gender, age and attractiveness. Let's use this photo of Steve Jobs as a test.

To upload an image, just click 'UPLOAD YOUR OWN' and specify the image you want to judge.

Waiting for image upload & analysis ...

Like this. Jobs died at the age of 56, so his age is on the good line.

Next, let's try using the images of Satomi Ishihara, who was also selected as

one of Japan's leading idols, ' Best 100 Most Beautiful Faces in the World '.

The face was correctly recognized, but appeared considerably younger than it actually was.

Doraemon, an idol who also represents Japan ...

As expected, AI seems to be unable to recognize the face well.

The BLINQ algorithm is constantly being refined using images from the BLINQ community in Switzerland. In addition, the criteria for 'charm' vary depending on the culture, so don't be too serious.
