Nikon released Android compatible digital camera "COOLPIX S800c" compatible with Wi-Fi

Nikon Imaging Japan announced that it will release three models including "COOLPIX S800c" which supports Android 2.3 as a new lineup of the compact digital camera "COOLPIX S" series and supports Wi-Fi.

◆COOLPIX S800c

"COOLPIX S800c" is a model equipped with basic functions as a camera, comfortable operability like a smartphone, and a communication function excluding telephones. It is equipped with Android 2.3 and supports Wi-Fi, so you can post pictures you take directly to SNS, you can also browse SNS. It is also possible to customize the camera by downloading the application from Google Plain, pre-installed Google +, YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail etc.

As a camera, it is equipped with NIKKOR lens with lens shift type hand vibration reduction (VR) function of optical 10 × zoom covering photographing field angle equivalent to wide angle 25 mm to 250 mm in terms of 35 mm format. The number of effective pixels is 1.602 million pixels, the sensor is a back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Movies of full HD (1920 × 1080 / 30p) can be taken.

As built-in GPS (with A-GPS function), position information recording at the time of shooting is also possible. The back side has a touch panel type 3.5-inch wide organic EL monitor with about 820,000 dots.

"COOLPIX S6400" is a high magnification model of optical 12 × zoom covering the photographing angle of view equivalent to a wide angle of 25 mm to equivalent to 300 mm. Full - HD (1920 × 1080 / 30p) can be shot for movies as well as S800c.

"COOLPIX S01" is 77 mm in width × 51.2 mm in height × 17.2 mm in depth, with mass 96 g, the smallest lightest model in the history of COOLPIX. It is about smaller than normal business card size.

The lens is triple zoom corresponding to wide angle 29 mm to 87 mm, effective number of pixels is 10 14 thousand pixels. The sensor is a CCD sensor, the built-in memory is about 7.3 GB and large capacity. Movie shooting corresponds to 720p.
