CeBIT2009: An exquisite "SK430" is a playable and recordable small DTV

As CeBIT is specialized in European market, the product exhibited much reflects European favor. So some of the products, especially from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea, seem really uncommon and unique to us Japanese eyes.

I found this "SK430", a portable television at the area where Taiwanese manufacturers gathered. Though it's monitor is as small as 4.3", it can receive full segment TV and even record the program.

The interface of SK430. DV3-H is what we call "1seg" and DVS-T is full-seg. The encoder handles AVI, WMV, MP4, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video files. It also handles MP3, Ogg, ACC audio files and image files such as JPEG and BMP.

SD memory card and microSD slot on the right side. 2GB flash memory were installed.

SK430 is made by Taiwanese manufacturer ASUKA. The company first sold embbeded modules for DTV tuner but recently they are manufacturing these whole gadgets as OEM.

They don't have plan to ship this to Japan for now, but are capable to do so. Hope they could find good distributer in Japan.
