Sotheby's Auction Figures, Sold Out for ¥ 1.6 Billion



At the auction auctioned by Sotheby's in New York, a figure created by contemporary artist

Takashi Murakami was sold for $ 11.5 million (approximately ¥ 1 billion). The work is 'My Lonesome CowBoy' produced in 1998 and is 254 cm high. Apparently the applause arose at the high price as the expected winning price was considered to be $ 3 million to $ 4 million (approximately 300 million to 400 million yen).
