Hitachi announced earnings results for fiscal year 2007, hard disk business which was forced to struggle to turn profitable
According to Hitachi's earnings report in Fiscal 2007, which was announced earlier, the HDD division that had been reporting that it will be sold in the deficit continued its profit for the second consecutive quarter. Apparently it seems that it is getting on the recovery trend.
Details are from the following.(PDF file) Hitachi | Fiscal 2008 Consolidated Results
Hitachi, which had been progressing withdrawal and sale of HDD business, seems to be able to convert to profit by cutting costs and introducing new products in a timely manner, mainly head media.
Looking ahead, we aim to further improve profit by focusing on high-growth areas, strengthening product development capabilities and reducing costs. Although it seems that there was a loss in Hitachi as a whole, could it be possible to switch to surplus due to HDD business?
