Compare the picture quality of YouTube, Google Video, Soapbox and Yahoo! video cast

YouTubeWhenGoogle VideoWhenSoapboxStarted todayYahoo! Video Cast, I decided to upload the same movie to these four video posting / sharing services, compare the conversion speed and the upload speed as image quality, sound quality, and then bonus.

It might be a reference when you want to emphasize some element when uploading a movie.
All three sample movies in this time are MPEG1 files with a resolution of 360 × 240, a bit rate of 4000 kbps in CBR, a voice of stereo with MPEG - 1 Audio Layer II, 48000 Hz. There is no block noise etc all. I wish I could upload the original movie somewhere, but I could not find a good storage place .... Sorry.

First of all, the first sample A is a system with intense movement with BGM. It is 2DCG type. 15.1 MB of MPEG1 file. The following is the original image quality.

Soapbox sample A

Sample A of Yahoo! Video Cast

The second sample B is a 3DCG screensaver famous 3PlanesoftMechanical ClockI used a movie. Although the movement is small, the original movie is quite high in picture quality. Same as with sample A with BGM. 7.98 MB of MPEG1 file. The following is the original image quality.

Soapbox sample B

Sample B of Yahoo! Video Cast

The last third sample C is a 3DCG screensaver with a bit more motion, the DIGITAL MINDSSpace Plasma 3D ScreensaverI used it. It is an MPEG1 file of 9.36 MB. The following is the original image quality.

Sample C on YouTube

Google Video sample C

Soapbox sample C

Sample C of Yahoo! Video Cast

Comparing Samples A to C, YouTube probably has the lowest image quality and sound quality, and Soapbox seems to be good in both image quality and sound quality.

The average speed of conversion was 3, YouTube was about 3 minutes, Google Video was about 2 minutes, Soapbox was about 3 minutes, Yahoo! Video Cast was 1 minute.

Finally I set a transfer rate graph.

In the case of YouTube, it is about 800 KB per second on average.

For Google Video average it is about 300 KB per second.

For Soapbox, it is about 400 KB per second on average.

In the case of Yahoo! video casting, average is about 1500 KB per second. It is overwhelmingly fast.

Since Yahoo! video cast has only just begun, it is possible that even with the increase in the number of users etc., the quality may be further deteriorated, but it is convenient to be able to operate all in Japanese. However, YouTube is overwhelmingly functional in terms of function, and YouTube is full of users at the moment. However, if you upload more than 100 MB, Google Video is recommended. Also, if you place emphasis on image quality etc. Soapbox, it feels like. Bukkake, none of these are both good and bad ...
