WILLCOM's next-generation PHS realizes speed of 20 Mbps

Because 1 Mbps is 125 kilobytes per second, 125 x 20 = 2500. In short, it is said to be a transfer rate of 2,500 kilobytes per second. It is really 2.5 megabytes per second. Even software that consumes huge amount of transfer such as P2P can operate even if this speed is only available. It is much faster than third generation mobile phones.

In the future, after acquiring the radio station license with the aim of August 2006, we will conduct experiment and evaluation activities to develop and introduce the next generation PHS system, centering on transmission experiments of the OFDM system in the 2.5 GHz band , We plan to realize a transmission rate of 20 Mbps.

By the way, it was in June 2003 that the downlink maximum 20 Mbps plan was started with ADSL. I feel the trend of the times ....
