G01. What is MAME?

MAME stands for "Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator".
By using MAME together with game data file (ROM), it fairly faithes that game on PC
You can reproduce. Currently MAME emulates classic arcade games from the 1970s to the 1990s, with more than 1900 titles (more than 3300 in total).

The ROM image used in MAME is "sucked out" from the ROM chip of the original arcade board. MAME fulfills the role of "hardware" such as game CPU and original chip. So, this is not a simulation, it can be said to be the original as it was at the game center.

The purpose of MAME is to preserve the history of these past video games.
The technology surrounding the game continues to evolve on a daily basis, but MAME stops losing such precious "vintage" games and leaves them in memory.
