The AirPods the man was wearing had a camera, and the captured video was sent to 'Visual Intelligence,' allowing Siri to use the video information to answer questions from the wearer about their surroundings and record information. If the AirPods were to be obscured by hair, a warning would appear saying, 'Make sure your AirPods are not covered by anything so that we can get accurate information about your surroundings.'
These camera-equipped AirPods, codenamed 'B790,' have been found in the iOS 27 developer beta, suggesting their appearance in the new version.

It should be noted that a camera-equipped AirPods model codenamed 'B798,' scheduled for release in 2027, is already known, and Mac Rumors points out that this 'B790' is a different device.
