Google announces 'Pixel Tag,' a lost item tracker, priced at 5010 yen each.

Google's first lost item tracker, the Pixel Tag , has arrived. It's waterproof, has a replaceable battery, and is a competitor to Apple's

The Pixel Tag is made of polycarbonate and metal. It is IP67 water and dust resistant and can be located using Bluetooth Channel Sounding and ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless technology. Google's Find Hub system is used for location tracking.

It can pinpoint the distance to lost items in 1-meter increments. You can operate your smartphone to make the Pixel Tag emit a sound, or conversely, press the button on the Pixel Tag to make your smartphone emit a sound. The sound will apparently play even in silent mode.

The battery is said to last for 'more than a year.' It runs on a coin-cell lithium battery (CR2032), and the user can replace the battery themselves. The dimensions are 28mm wide, 46.1mm high, 5.4mm thick, and it weighs 11.8g.

The price is 5,010 yen per unit, or 16,940 yen for a set of four. It is scheduled to be released around November 11, 2026.

Apple's 'AirTag' costs 5,480 yen for one, or 18,400 yen for four. In the US, the Pixel Tag is priced the same as the AirTag at $29 for one and $99 for four, clearly indicating that Apple is targeting it as a direct competitor.
