OpenRouter provides APIs for a wide variety of AI models, including large-scale language models, image generation models, and video generation models. Previously, OpenRouter users had to find the appropriate AI model themselves, but by installing OpenRouter MCP Server, the selection of AI models can be entrusted to an agent.
The OpenRouter MCP Server can be used with MCP-compatible agents such as 'Claude Code,' 'Codex CLI,' 'OpenCode,' and 'Cursor CLI.' The following video demonstrates an example of using the OpenRouter MCP Server to select an AI model in Claude Code.
